These classes offer a welcoming,relaxed and calm space for you to move, breath and learn practical tools to support a calm, gentle
birth. The classes are suitable for all women, regardless of their fitness level. No previous experience of yoga is necessary.

An opportunity for you to connect with your baby, meet other mamas whilst honouring your body and the many changes that occur during
this time. The postures are very gentle and can be adapted to individual needs. Yoga is great way to strengthen the body and help alleviate commonsymptoms in pregnancy such as PGP, carpel tunnel, nausea, fatigue.

It is also beneficial for your emotional wellbeing, helping you feel more confident and positive about birth.

Vinyasa Flow – ** New Thursday class starting 7th Feb

 

Join Chloe on Thursday evenings for a mixed level Vinyasa flow class. In this one hour class students will coordinate movement with breath, enabling them to flow from one pose to the next, and bring consciousness to both the present moment and to each individual movement. Throughout the class you can also expect to find elements of stillness where some asanas will be held for a few breaths; in this stillness Vinyasa is embodied in the continually moving beat of your heart and inhale/exhale of your breath.

This class will push you both mentally and physically as the breath initiated movements build strength, flexibility and balance, whilst also connecting every action of our lives with the intention of moving towards what is most important to us. Chloe creates a safe environment where students can move freely, feeling reconnected to themselves and empowered by their practice, whilst also being guided through the inhales and exhales additionally making this class a perfect introduction to yogic breathing.

Start your weekday right with a 50-minute flow suitable for any level. Lara’s class will wake you up gently but leave you feeling energised and ready to tackle the day. Expect creative vinyasa flows that focus on alignment and good movement practice; aimed to energise, build strength and counteract bad posture that can result from daily routines such as desk-based work, commuting and sporting activities. Each class will have an optional 5-minute savasana and a chance to chat to Lara after this about any yoga-based queries you may have.

Vikasa Mandala Flow £8

Yoga is a tool for personal growth and evolution – this is the foundation of the VIKASA Yoga philosophy.

This Yoga Method is rooted in the ancient traditions of Hatha Yoga practice with some influence from Himalayan Vinyasa and higher Taoism practices. A fusion of the three lineages allows for a very effective and complete system resulting in personal evolution.

By using all direction of mobility of the joints in the Asana practice (postures) we pressing onto these points and create signals inside and influencing of all sensors of the brain. As a result all neurons will react and you will have a complete liberation of the nervous system and releasing and opening in the whole body.

During this 1.5 hour complete class you can experience YOGA as a whole, including breath work, meditation, mantras and to complete the meditative gesture we will propose the practice of mudras, the energetic seals, that stimulate different parts of the body involved with breathing and to affect the flow of prana (energy) in the body.

This method is different compared from other styles of yoga as we use the 7 parameters of the physical development:

  • Stretching
  • Static strength
  • Static endurance
  • Dynamic strength
  • Dynamic endurance
  • Coordination
  • Reaction

This class will help you achieving a balanced distribution of energy within your physical body & balanced emotional and mental state as well.

This class is suitable for beginners as the sequencing is slow & steady paced, but also gives the more experienced yogi’s a real journey withing through ancient practices like Sri Yantra meditation & Nauli Kriya.

Well Woman Yoga Therapy – Womb Yoga £8 (Next Date to be Confirmed )

Womb Yoga is a practice specifically designed for women. A practice deeply rooted in the knowledge of the cyclic nature of feminine energy, this practice compliments the cycles in both our internal and external worlds.

Each week brings a different phase of a woman’s menstrual cycle, well woman womb yoga classes are planned with the awareness of these cycles, we will flow through a sequence of postures to support the energies of the feminine cycle, supporting us to a deeper connection to ourselves, our bodies, emotions and yoga practice. We will constantly be working with the elements of nature based on Chinese medicine and the meridian system to support and heal through asana practice & movementreflecting that we are ever changing & ever growing bringing us to an understanding that these ebs and flows can be nurtured both on and off our mats, honouring the feminine energy and ultimately bringing us into a more balanced and accepting state of being.

Gentle Yoga £6 (£5 conc)

Every Monday 545pm-645pm. Gentle Yoga is suitable for all levels including beginners to yoga. This class is based on Hatha yoga, Yin yoga and Mindfulness Meditation. You are encouraged to steady the mind through the breath and bring your awareness back into your body. The class starts with a short meditation and then carefully works through a varied sequence of Hatha yoga postures providing detailed alignment, and finishing with the stillness of yin yoga. Helping you to leave feeling calmer and centred. As the pace is slower in this class it works well if you are new to yoga, recovering from injury, pregnant, or are feeling stressed and hurried.  It is a lovely restorative form of yoga.

Hatha Yoga £7 (£6 conc)

Monday at 7pm and Wed at 6pm Hatha yoga benefits: a set of physical exercises (asanas) designed to align the muscles and bones and open the many energy channels of the body, especially the spine, so that energy can flow freely. Hatha yoga is intended to create a balance of strength and flexibility in the body as well as a balance of effort and surrender in each asana. A powerful tool for self-transformation, Hatha yoga requires that one pay special attention to the breath, which helps calm the fluctuations of the mind. The further benefits of hatha yoga are that the practitioner becomes more present in the unfolding of each moment, resulting in more awareness and relaxation. Hatha yoga is for beginners and the more advanced. Hatha yoga helps with weight loss and body realignment.

Ashtanga Yoga £7 (£6 conc)

Every Tuesday at 6pm. Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional, complete sequence of yoga postures and dynamic movements (vinyasas) formulated by Pattabhi Jois. This is a form of classical Indian Yoga. The practice creates internal heat in the body to aid purification. The sequence of ashtanga yoga is fairly physical and challenging, yet brings with it great rewards. The same sequence is taught every week in this session which allows you to move through each posture in a meditative state. It is also useful to have learned a practice for continuation at home. Although Ashtanga yoga is a challenging form of yoga we present it here with humour and care and offer some variations of certain postures if needed. The benefits of ashtanga yoga are full body cleansing, yoga for weight loss, a dynamic and more challenging form of yoga. Taught at Manchester Yoga Central, ashtanga yoga is true to its Indian and authentic, ancient roots.

Restorative Yoga & Yin Yoga by Candle Light £7

Welcome to the ultimate sensory escape. Every Tuesday at 730pm

Lit candles around the room paired with dim lighting and soothing music quickly set the mood for this 60 minute evening yoga practice.

Candlelight removes distractions so you turn your attention within and relax deeply. It’s a great complement to a workout or hectic daily schedule.

The class combines breathing techniques, long holds and props like blocks, bolsters and blankets. The props support different body parts so that you can sink into each posture, stretch passively and let go of all tension. As your heart rate slows, you’ll also quieten the mind.

These classes bring calm and wellbeing, and will leave you physically and mentally recharged. Enjoy the moment.

Kirtan Chanting £7 *Next Date TBC. **

Kirtan is the practice of chanting sacred mantra, (potent sound vibrations formulated by the ancient Rishis of India). Chanting or singing these divine phrases gradually releases fears and blockages from the mind and awakens us to a higher level of awareness, where an all pervading love, peace and oneness with everything that exists is experienced. Kirtan chanting is very simple, extremely enjoyable, is non-religious and is open to everyone.
